I've been getting conflicting advice from friends about brake pad intervals, some say every 20k km because of all the stop and go traffic and heat, others say 40k is fine if you drive carefully. I wanted to find out here what people with similar commutes are actually doing because I'm at 25k since my last change and the brakes still feel okay but I don't want to push my luck. I drive from Dubai South to Business Bay every day so lots of highway but also plenty of sudden braking when traffic randomly stops. Do most of you wait for the squeaking sound or do you just change them at a set mileage regardless? Also curious if summer driving wears them out faster than winter because I've noticed a difference but maybe it's in my head. Any rough guidelines would really help me plan better.
